Mosquito Lagoon Fishing Charter Guide
Mon Oct 06, 2008
Nobody ever takes pictures of a Mosquito Lagoon Fishing
Guide with a redfish, because
we're always on the poling platform pushing our anglers around scanning
the shallow waters for the tailing
redfish or lone red drum seeking a shrimp morsel or possibly
a crab on the grassy bottom.
That's why I'm standing in the water looking ridiculous holding
a redfish next to my Flats Boat hooked with a popular
redfish lure and smiling for the photographer (Captain
Gina). I'm usually the one watching the angler bring in the
fish and showing their smile after a long battle with a bruser sized
redfish when I record it for prosperity or hanging on the wall at
home or office.
I've been fishing the lagoons around Merritt Island
and East Central Florida for my entire life of
46 years including the Mosquito Lagoon and it's surrounding
waterways for redfish and I've learned alot from being on the water
observing schooling redfish and tailing singles,
pairs and groups. I've tried great new methods of fishing for and
improved on old tried-and-true methods of catching these awesome
gamefish and I've found them one of the most rewarding species to
pursue, especially when sightfished.
Growing up around (and never leaving) the Mosquito Lagoon
area except to guide and recreational fish with my family
in the Bahamas and the Florida Keys has been a lifelong pursuit
that many anglers often dream about. As my family has grown, my
fishing adventures have stayed closer to home and responsibilities
keep me from being as carefree as I'd like to, but I'm not regreting
the new challenges of teenagers and domestication, I just keep them
fishing, surfing
and loving the outdoors as much as work allows me.
Please feel free to call me and make a trip to our beautiful Mosquito
Lagoon or surrounding waterways for redfish soon.
